Could the Toyota FJ60 Land Cruiser be the best Roof Top Tent vehicle ever?

To be honest…writing this blog post definitely made me miss old blue, my 1985 FJ60 Land Cruiser. I sold it to great guy named Dave who flew all the way from The Netherlands and drove it the whole way across the entire USA. Once he and his friend collected another FJ60, they put both on a container ship and sent the two rust free rigs back home.

I used the funds from that sale to purchase a 1972 FJ40 that didn’t require all the nightmare emission regulations from the State of California that the 85 did. I love the FJ40, but I definitely miss the comfort and interior space offered by the spacious FJ60. The 1972 FJ40 is a utilitarian vehicle has way less creature comforts compared to any of the more modern FJ60 wagons.

I’ve been noticing a ton of great looking FJ60 rig with modern Roof Top Tents added to the mix. Not only does it look cool, but offers a great way to travel overland with the convenience of a more full featured and easy to set up sleeping arrangement. Here are a few photo examples of some killer looking FJ60 Roof Top Tent setups. Could the Toyota FJ60 land cruiser be the best choice for the ultimate Roof Top Tent Overland Vehicle? Let me know what you guys think! Cheers, Benjamin
