Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser

FJ40 Toyota Land Cruiser from 1969

This Fully Restored 1969 Toyota Land Cruiser is available for sale on eBay. The Venerable FJ40 evolved from the early Toyota BJ and J20 series 4x4s. These were copies of the classic US Army Jeep during the Korean war. By 1960, Toyota had refined their recipe for the 4×4 runabout formula and deemed the FJ40 suitable for world export. This lovely Tan FJ40 comes to us by way of Columbia but appears to be American spec’d with a 145hp, 1bbl, gasoline inline-six, with 3 speed manual and 4WD, with a high and low transfer case.

This Truck was blessed with a frame-off restoration from to bottom, inside and out. Its numbers matching, but the motor and trans were rebuilt and serviced. The rest of the drivetrain had all worn parts replaced and or freshened. It also sports new shocks, modern AC and heater, USB stereo, heavy-duty of roading Jack and Jerry can. The front illumination has been augmented with 4 LED driving lights, which compliment the upgraded bumper with a modern, heavy-duty winch. The old factory, canvas soft-top was tossed for a new higher quality roof with contrasting orange piping. The piping is an ideal match for the orange-wrapped front and rear seats. A combination that catches the eye and looks period correct.

With a flick of the key, the 6-cylinder engine roars to life and pulls this little 4×4 down the road with minimal fuss. It’s a ‘plucky’ little truck with a borderline agricultural feel as it takes you back to that ‘only the essentials’ driving experience
