The Toyota Land Cruiser, like the American Jeep it was originally based on, proved such a successful design that remained basically unchanged for over thirty years. This 1983 Toyota FJ45 pickup is almost the last of the original Land Cruisers, with 1984 being the last year for the classic design. This FJ45 has had a restoration that makes it better than it would have been rolling off the assembly line, with its brown leather interior over period-correct green paint. A meticulous frame-off rebuild was performed, and it shows in the immaculate engine bay and chassis. The opportunity to own one of the best FJ45s on the market will come at Mecum’s Chicago auction on October 24-25 2019.
