What’s the difference between the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40, FJ43 & FJ45 Model?
Toyota built the first legendary Land Cruiser “BJ’ prototype in 1951; however, the FJ40 model’s regular production did not begin until 1960. Global production surpassed 50,000 vehicles by 1968, making the Land Cruiser the best selling Toyota vehicle in the United States up to that point. FJ40 The 1960 FJ40 model was an upgrade from the previous FJ25 series model built in the 50’s. Toyota made many smart production changes after buying new state of the art heavy-duty steel presses. The FJ40 was mechanically given the new 93 kW (126 PS; 125 hp), 3.9 Liter “F” engine, and the 40 series Land Cruiser finally received improved low-range gearing but continued…

AN APPETITE FOR ALTITUDE IN THE MOUNTAINS OF COLORADO – PART I – PRESENTED BY STANCEWORKS & NITTO TIRE
Article & Photo’s by Mike Burroughs – Repost from www.stanceworks.com We awoke on Friday morning, perched on a mountainside at roughly 9,000ft of altitude. For me and Jim Bob, it was technically the start of Day 3, but for most of the gang, the trip was just beginning. Rewinding a bit, Jim Bob and I had departed from Southern California on Wednesday morning, making it to Southern Utah through excruciating 113-degree heat before calling it a night and catching some sleep. Thursday morning came early, with temps creeping into the mid 80s just minutes after dawn. Gnats were out in full force as soon as the sun rose, biting us as well as…

Could the Toyota FJ60 Land Cruiser be the best Roof Top Tent vehicle ever?
To be honest…writing this blog post definitely made me miss old blue, my 1985 FJ60 Land Cruiser. I sold it to great guy named Dave who flew all the way from The Netherlands and drove it the whole way across the entire USA. Once he and his friend collected another FJ60, they put both on a container ship and sent the two rust free rigs back home. I used the funds from that sale to purchase a 1972 FJ40 that didn’t require all the nightmare emission regulations from the State of California that the 85 did. I love the FJ40, but I definitely miss the comfort and interior space offered…
