Toyota FJ40 production began in 1960 and continued through 1984. Over those 24 years, the FJ 40 remained largely unchanged as the formula remained successful: Small, maneuverable, reliable and rugged. As such, the FJ40 was quickly embraced by the 4X4 community. These trucks continue to live on, and 4 wheel drive enthusiasts go to great lengths to keep them on the road. Just completed in time for Christmas, a Full Nut & Bolt Frame Off Restoration. This early model FJ40 is a rare, collector’s item equipped with parts that are nearly impossible to find. When this FJ40 was purchased from the Toyota dealership it was one of the few who the customer opted for a hardtop with corrugated side panels. The back end features small swing-out doors with a unique, rear hatch that can be pushed up and folded horizontally — the only foldable version available on these models. Here is a very nice 1980 Land Cruiser. It has low miles and is in excellent condition. It has factory power steering, new tires, rims, upholstery, fuel tank and fuel system related , and any and all other small parts that didn’t measure up or showed wear. All systems work including factory washers and horn. The only thing not stock is emissions. the original owner de-smogged it 20 years ago. The truck came to me in excellent condition to begin with. This FJ40 Toyota Land Cruiser had been restored with new aluminum tub, won’t ever rust out. New upholstery, Power steering, new paint in and out, to many new items to list. mechanically the vehicle is sound, the engine runs smooth and has good compression, the transmission and clutch are tight and shifts smoothly, the breaks are in good condition as is the exhaust and electrical system. All fluids have been changed and maintained on a regular basis and are very clean with-in their respected containers. The tires are in good condition with plenty of tread.
